Behind the story
Sri Ramesh Chandra Muduli of Chintamanipur village of Iswarpur GP, Oupada Block is a Master Crafts Man of Terracotta Activities who have been contacted by ORMAS, Balasore for providing of Training to another PG at Sadar. While initial discussion he urges to look the WSHG members/ artisans of his village those having no works/ income and ORMAS attended a meeting for an orientation of WSHG Members for collective production and marketing thereof forming of Producers’ Group. They agreed and started work collecting @Rs.180/- per member and opened a bank account in OGB, Santaragadia.
ORMAS Interventions
- In convergence with MSME they have been provided Master Craftsman (MCM) training of 6 months and out of the STIPEND OF Rs.90,000/- for total of 15 Members, they purchased one ELECTRIC WHEEL and other small accessories to expand the activities.
- They have been sponsored to Outside and Inside state exhibitions and actively participated along with demonstrated their activities too.
- Provided IB & CB fund of Rs.2,04,000/- to the PG and through which they procured kulhad making machine, Diya making machine and Clay cutting machine.
- Additional equipment cost of Rs.6 lakhs was provided for making gas furnace for ceramic products.
- Made an Exposure visit on clay making machine and kulhad making machine to Thangarh Gujurat. Provided thematic training through Mukta Studio Pottery of Kolkata on low glaze Ceramic products manufacturing out of the thematic training support of ORMAS.
- Provided High Tempreture ceramic products manufacturing training in convergence of SRLM for 14days in two batches.
- Working capital in three phases of Rs.5,90,000/- were provided for business promotional activity as a loan.
- They have been provided 30 nos. of electric pottery wheels and 03 nos. of blungers through KVIC.
- The PG also provided Workshed with Office and store Room out of Amma Gaon Aama Bikash scheme of Govt. provisioned of Rs. 10.00 lakhs.
- Also they have provided 1 no. of Tube well with submersible pump fitted to make provion of water facilities in workshed toilets by Block.
- The PG also tied-up with IRCTC, BBSR and supplying more than 80000 Kulhad per month apart from they are supplying nearest tourist place of Panchalingeswar and in & around Balasore Municipality.
- While market launching of kulhad in Balasore, District Administration issued a notice to all line deptt. to use earthen kulhad for tea and coffee during all meetings where ever provisions are there.
- Initially the PG was purchased required clay from local landowners. After intervention now they are getting free clay by the Tahasildar from the Road and Canal construction sides.
- After intervention of ORMAS the monthly production of the said PG presently Rs.3,50,000/- to Rs.4,00,000/- and in process to enhance up to 6.00 lakhs in this year.
- The monthly income per member presently is Rs.2,500/- to Rs.3,000/- and planned to enhance up to 6000/- per month in this year.
- On successfulness of this, presently another 6nos. PGs have been formed and PGs from Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Jajpur have been made their exposure visit to the above PG
